Dream Catcher tutorial

as requested by @peterwentz

materials used (you may use alternatives which will be listed in brackets next to the materials i used)

1. wire about 3 mm thick ( a metal/plastic ring will suffice this is used for the     circle to create the dream catcher)

2. wire cutters

3. multi-colored hemp (string/ yarn/ leather)

4. beads (optional but i love them!)

5. Feathers

6. hot glue gun ( preferably low temp)

7. glue gun pad (optional but helps a lot)

8.hairspray (optional)

procedures:

plug in glue gun

Take your wire ( if you got pre-formed rings skip this step) form them into circles about 4 in in diameter. you can use circle shaped house-hold objects to assist just wrap the wire around the object. allow the wire to overlap about an inch. ( see the 1st picture) use wire cutters to snip as you craft along.

after all the rings are formed use the hot glue gun to glue them shut applying glue to the inner part of the overlapped wire. (see 1st picture)

begin to wrap your choice of colored hemp around your rings. apply a dollop of glue where you begin to wrap and hold the hemp in place un-till it is stable (this may hurt a little) don’t use a really long piece of hemp because it will make wrapping hard guesstimate the amount needed and it your run out no sweat just glue it still then add on another piece!. (see 2nd picture for wrapping)

now that your ring is all wrapped up use a different colored hemp to fill in the center. use the same wrapping technique from the above procedure but do only 3 revolutions for the center filling process. start at any point then choose another point on the ring in a diagonal or straight position and wrap 3 times…ect. it may end up looking similar to a star if your into that go ahead but if not try making shorter sections and play around with your pattern. add beeds on periodically as you make your pattern. (when done it should look similar to picture 3) glue the end of your hemp to keep it from unraveling

when you have a filled in circle choose what you want to be the bottom of your dream catcher.loop 2 pieces of hemp about the same size onto a point about 2 in from each other centering the bottom. ( picture 4) tie a knot in both pieces.(picture 5 ) then use any weaving pattern you like(braiding, twists fishtail, ect) but leave about 6 in of hemp hanging (picture 6) when done with both sides it should look like picture 7.

choose a combination of feathers for the dream catcher. apply hot glue to the stems of the feathers to connect the feathers alone!  let glue dry!

now apply a dollop of glue to the outside and wrap 1 piece of hemp from the danglers around the stem while its still hot. apply pressure while its cooling.

repeat on other side

add beads to the dangling strings (optional) when done it should look like picture 8

hairspray dream catcher for extra hold!

and your finished product should be great!

7 QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK AT THE END OF EVERY JOB INTERVIEW.

Click here to find out why these questions help you.

This is so important!

I never know what to ask and end up looking like a fool cause I don’t have a question prepared.

Don’t be me.

This is huge. When I do interviews at the job I hate, if people just shrugged when we ask “do you have questions” i pretty much write them off unless they were a bamf with at least two other areas of the interview.
